JLC, Inc builds Minnesota’s largest Solar Array Panel on the main building of roof of the county Public Works Facility in Medina. It is expected to generate more than 2.5 million killowatt-hours of electricity over its lifetime, saving more than 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. JLC is continuing to work with lead certification as well as design and renovate cleanrooms.
JLC is in the beginning stages of a 19 month renovation at Juvenile Justice Center, in Mpls.

JLC, Inc (Jan Lasserud Construction, Inc) Earns Governor’s 2006 Safety Award. JLC, Inc is one of 191 employers who were recognized at the Governor’s Safety Awards Luncheon at the Minneapolis Convention Center on May 12th. “On average, nearly 300 Minnesota workers are injured or become ill from job-related causes each day” said Carol Bufton, president of the Minnesota Safety Council. “Smart Employers like JLC, Inc understand that a commitment to safety contributes to the health of their employees and their bottom line.” “We pride ourselves on running a safe workplace” said Jan Lasserud owner and president of JLC, Inc, “everyone benefits from a safe workplace. From the owners, clients, workers, and public, safety impacts us all. We must all do our part to ensure an injury free workplace. I would like to personally thank all of those who have contributed to our ‘No Work Loss Ever’ record.” It is worth noting that JLC, Inc has a perfect record of safety. After being in business since 1999 JLC, Inc has not had one work loss injury on any of their projects including all subcontractors and suppliers. Since 1934, the annual Governor’s Safety Awards have spotlighted Minnesota employers with above average safety records. Participants submit injury information which is compared with sate and national data, as well as the entrant’s past performance. Ongoing safety programs and activities are also considered. Winners are recognized at three levels:
JLC, Inc received a Meritorious Achievement Award The Governor’s Safety Awards luncheon is part of the 72nd Minnesota Safety & Health Conference, coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council. The conference is the oldest and largest gathering of workplace safety and health professionals in the region. The Minnesota Safety Council, founded in 1928, is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in Minnesota by preventing unintentional injuries (”accidents”). Nearly 300 Minnesota workers are injured or become ill from job related causes each day, with annual workers’ compensation costs of more than $1 billion.

JLC, Inc. received an award on 12 October 2005 for the recently completed Seagate Cafeteria Renovation Project. The Superior Project Performance Award was presented by Seagate Technology. JLC, Inc personal who attended the event were Jan Lasserud, and Raymond Beyrand (Project Manger). The project duration was from the end of April to the end of July. It encompassed a complete renovation including demo, all new millwork, equipment, structural, and finishes. With dozens of personal, encompassing nearly 7000 sq ft, a tight time frame, a four phase schedule, and only allowing a 3 week shut down of cafeteria services, this multi million dollar project was no small undertaking. Its completion on time, with out injury reflects great credit upon all the staff that work on the project. |
